One of Teaching Personnel’s client schools in South Manchester are currently looking to recruit for a teacher of Art and Design on a full-time temporary basis starting in January. The role would run for the duration of the schools spring term and would involve five days a week (Monday to Friday) working the school hours 8:30-3:00pm with potential additional hours to ensure effective planning of lessons and resources. The school is based close to the Manchester city centre meaning that the commute time for candidates living in the surrounding areas of Greater Manchester will be kept to a minimum. The school have a very dedicated SLT department, and every member of staff is supported in their running of lessons every day.
The role will involve the candidate delivering Art lessons across KS3 and KS4 (GCSE) for the duration of the contract as well as being responsible for raising attainment levels across each year and conducting both formative and summative assessments. The school would like the candidate to be able to throw themselves into the whole school life and be able to attend parent’s evenings, school sports days and trips as well as helping out with extracurricular clubs where necessary.
The ideal candidate will have strong behaviour management skills and will be able to captivate and engage classes easily whilst possessing an energetic and patient attitude. The candidate will need to have QTS in Art & Design along with having strong literacy and numeracy skills. Both experienced teachers and ECT/NQT’s are encouraged to apply to this role. In the first instance, lesson plans will be provided, however the school are keen that the candidate would then be able to adapt and extend schemes of work to suit their own style of teaching to benefit the overall learning of the students.
