1:1 SEN Teacher or THLTA required for a mainstream Primary school in Cambridge

We are looking for a Teacher (can be unqualififed or an experienced ASC TA) to work with a year 2 pupil with Autism on a 1:1 basis 2 to 3 days per week. 

The pupil does not yet have a EHCP but the school are hopefully they will get one through durning the next academic year. The pupil is not very challanging to work with but does require a lot of short, interesting lessons to keep him engaged and learning. The pupil's first language is not English so expeirence with EAL would be highly benificial.

The learning will take place outside the classroom in your own space and you will have access to lots of resourses and support from the SENCO and the pupil's parents. 

As the 1:1 Teacher or HLTA you will be responsible for the planning of the pupil's day and all the lessons. This is a job share role and the other member of staff has been working with the pupil for 2 terms and has an excellent relationship already already in place- the planning is shared and you will have time once a week to review and plan ahead together

Key Skills

QTS or extensive teaching experience

  • Successful 1:1 teaching experience
  • Have previous experience working with pupils with EAL
  • Experience teaching and planning short lessons for KS1
  • Up to date knowledge of the national curriculum 
  • You MUST have experience supporting/ teaching pupils with Autism
