September 2015 marked the start of an exciting time for Ryde Academy when ‘Head of the Year’ Joy Ballard joined as the Principal.
Across the first year, GCSE attainment increased from 37% to 54%. Ofsted recognised these massive improvements when they rated the academy as ‘Good’ in November 2016.
Due to the school’s increasing popularity and expansion, we have a number of fantastic opportunities for teachers at our academy.
You will be working in our multi-million pound state-of-the-art new school building which is set to open in 2017.
About our Academy
Ryde Academy, based on the Isle of Wight, is an 11 to 18 years Secondary Academy and is sponsored by the Academies Enterprise Trust (AET). There are currently 1,000 students on roll and this is rising now that the academy is the school of choice for the community.

Are you a self-motivated, enthusiastic teacher of Geography?
We’re looking for a Geography teacher to join our rapidly improving Academy.
The ideal candidate will be ambitious, aiming for excellence and:
• Should have a strong track record of raising attainment and achievement of every student in the subject or the ability to demonstrate you are developing outstanding practice, if an NQT.
• Be a passionate advocate of the subject who contributes effectively to departmental and whole school improvement.
• Have the ability to teach across the age and ability range at age 11-16.
