KS1 Teacher / Key Stage 1 Teacher with Additional Responsibility & TLR - Southwark, South London based
This permanent position starts in April after the Easter break, the schools Head is keen to begin the interview process ASAP!
The role involves teaching your own Key Stage 1 class (Yr Group negotiable) as well as taking on additional responsibility (ideally Literacy Coordinator, but again the Head can be flexible)
The school has the typical story of a south London primary; a history of under performance that has been successfully arrested in the last 4-5 years and one that is well on its way to achieving Outstanding status.
The Inspiring Head has worked tirelessly to improve standards and expectations across the board and they are now graded as a 'Good' school. Person Specification - KS1 Teacher / Key Stage 1 Teacher & Literacy Coordinator
As mentioned above, experience and approach is key to this role! You will need to be an innovative and capable KS1 Teacher who possesses an adaptable approach that allows you to quickly assess your surroundings and make strong judgments on what aspects can be improved and which are working effectively. You need to contribute to the school initiatives to further improve the learning outcomes for all pupils and this can only happen by providing the teaching staff with clear instruction, leadership and support.
About the Role - KS1 Teacher / Key Stage 1 Teacher & Literacy Coordinator
In this permanent KS1 Teacher post you will be taking charge of a KS1 class which will be decided nearer the time and you will be required to take on AD in the shape of a Literacy Co-ordinator role which comes with TLR. If you have strong experience and talents in a different area the school can be adaptable but literacy is the key area of focus right now. Whatever your positions ends up being you can be assured of support from the leadership team, your fellow teaching colleagues and a superb support team spread right across the school.
