A forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Portsmouth is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Economics and Business Teacher to join their thriving team on a part-time basis as soon as possible until the end of the academic year. The school offers a dynamic, student-centred environment and a strong academic reputation, with a commitment to equipping learners with the skills and knowledge for life beyond the classroom.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or ambitious early-career educator who is excited by the chance to deliver high-quality Business and Economics education, primarily at Key Stage 5, with a meaningful KS3 contribution through a Money Management programme.

  • Deliver engaging, well-planned lessons in Economics and Business Studies to A-Level students

  • Teach a KS3 Money Management course (resources provided) that supports students' financial literacy and life skills

  • Inspire students with a passion for the subject, encouraging independent thought, critical analysis, and real-world connections

  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure strong academic outcomes and provide timely, constructive feedback

  • Contribute to the wider curriculum and department development where appropriate

  • Foster positive relationships with students and colleagues and contribute to the school's collaborative and supportive ethos

  • A well-qualified subject specialist in Economics and/or Business

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification

  • Has experience teaching KS5, ideally A-Level, with a proven track record of student success (or the potential to develop this as an ECT)

  • Is confident teaching foundational financial literacy at KS3, with support and resources provided

  • Demonstrates excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Has a strong classroom presence and a clear commitment to safeguarding and student well-being

  • Enjoys working as part of a team and contributing to a vibrant department and wider school community
